Disappointing Defeat

Today we played against Waterford. It has been raining a lot lately so we had to tarp the field and get everything ready for today. It finally comes gametime and it is sunny. I felt good today as far as playing baseball(had I pitched, it would have been good). Anyways, we started out ok with a good defensive inning (the only one of the day) and then we scored a run to go up 1-0. Everything was going good and then we started making error after error and we ended up having a 6-1 deficit going into the 6th inning. It was the 6th, 7th, and 8th batter(me) up to bat in the 6th and we wanted back in this game. Zeb got hit to lead it off. Then Nathan got on as well. I came up and hit a crappy hit to the 2nd baseman and he dropped it and I got on base. Bases loaded with 0 outs. Jason gomes strikes out and then the catcher picks off Zeb at 3rd. Runners on 1st and second now with 2 outs... Justin Nunes hits a base hit and Nathan scores from 2nd and I make it to third. runners on first and third with 2 outs. Peewee hits and an infield single or they make an error... I can't remember. I score. Then Kanawyer comes up and hits in Nunes, and Peewee and he is tagged out. Going into the 7th inning we are down 6-5. We shut them down and its our at bats. Joey and Tommy get on(Bussard pinch runs Nick for Joey and Travis Manzo for Tommy). The reason he put travis manzo in the game is because dave johnson didn't want to go in because he had to "take a shit." Anyways,(heres the bad part) Runners on first and third with no outs. Zeb hits a shallow pop-up to left(1 out), Nick tags up and runs home and gets tagged out(2 outs), and Travis Manzo rounds second and doesn't even look to go to third but he isn't paying attention either so their catcher throws the ball to second and tag Manzo out(3 outs). That is correct ladies and gentlemen! A triple play to freaking lose the game! Needless to say Bussard and the people who care about baseball are pissed about the loss. Thanks to that loss we are now pretty much screwed as far as making playoffs. Now we get to play for good old "pride", hooray! That is soooo stupid. Our team just doesn't care enough. It is mostly the juniors who make the team so blah and I do not foresee a good season next year for them. I almost forgot to mention that during the game there was foulball hit and Bussard had to go get it because no one wanted to move there big fat ass out of the dugout. Shit, I should have done it, even if I am DHing, there was only 1 out anyhow. That just really pissed me off when that happened though. If we make playoffs this year it would be a miracle because we have absolutely no spirit. It's as if we joined just so that we could get out of class early or something stupid like that. Screw that. I'm sick of all the worthless pieces of shit on out team. The worst part is that we all make mistakes and no one puts a stop to it. If you ask me, we are one of the worst teams as far as pride goes too. It is going to be a long season. That is my opinion at least, I may be wrong. I just got a little carried away... sorry.
